Your 13 days trip starts in the morning at Mohammed V International Airport in Casablanca. Enjoy Rabat all day long, Kasbah des Oudaias and Necropole de Chellah which is a Roman ruin located in the south of the new town,

The 1st place is Meknes. The farmland of olive groves, orchards and fields spread out around Meknes.
At Meknes why not go to Bab el Mansour, which is one of the most beautiful and famous gates in North Africa. Meknes is the town which was chosen as a capital in the 17 -18th century by the Alaouite Dynasty (the current Moroccan dynasty) and is listed in the World Heritage. During its heyday the Meknes Moulay Ismail ruled here. That is why it is called the Tombeau de Moulay Ismail. It is one of the most beautiful buildings in Morocco.
After enjoying the ancient city of Meknes, you will drive to Volubilis which is the biggest ruin 
in Morocco and is also listed as a World Heritage.
The final destination is Moulay Idriss, which is close to Volubilis. Tombeau of Moulay Idriss I brought Islamic religion to Morocco at the beginning of 8th Century.

  • morocco travel3rd day<Staying at Fes>
  • Walk around Volubilis. Volubiris became Roman territory in 40 B. C.. It declined in the 3rd century because of Berber pressure and the Romans evacuated. Volubiris is existing at the very center of the farm land and is 3.5 km away from the foot of hills of Moulay Idriss. After lunch you leave for Fes.

    morocco and travel4th day<Staying at Fes>
  • Medina in Fes for a whole day.
    An official guide makes your excursion fruitful in the medina. Mosque Karaouiyne which was constructed in the 9th century. It is the biggest mosque in the northern Africa and was one of the oldest universities. Look inside of Medersa Attarine, a theological school which was constructed in the 14th century and Zaouia Moulay Idriss, a religious house where the tomb of Moulay Idriss II is located. Moulay Idriss II was the person who constructed the medina.
    Before sunset go up the hill to the Tombeaux Merinides, where you can look down on Fes el Bari shining in the sunset

  • You drive through a forest of cedar in the Moyen Atlas to Erfoud. Passing through Ifrane and Azrou, an area where the French built their summer house. You will also see Barbary Macaques monkeys in the forest. You eat lunch at Midelt and descend to Gorges du Ziz. The road leads down to Erfoud.

  • In the morning you visit the Tombeaux Moulay Ali Cherif and Souk in Rissani. Moulay Ali Cherif governed the 1st Berber kingdom in southern Morocco in the 8-14th century. You stop at Erfoud and drop in a factory of marble products in the afternoon and after that move to Merzouga.
    You change from a car to a camel in the Merzouga desert. After 2-hour camel ride you arrive at the tent site, which is your accommodation for today. Your time in the desert might be the most memorable day in your life. See Photos.

    On a clear night the stars almost overflow from the sky.  You may even see shooting stars.

    You ride back to the hotel by camel. Enjoy one more day in the desert and relax at the hotel.

  • desert in morocco8th day<Staying at Ouarzazate>

You enjoy driving in the desert via Tinghir and go to Gorges du Todra. A palm tree oasis and village are among the desert.

Such magnificence gorge as you have never seen in Japan appears in front of you. After the lunch time you hike along the gorge.

Then you again drive to Ouarzazate by Route des Kasbahs. You pass a beautiful village in which roses in bloom in spring and also Gorge du Dades.

In Ouarzazate you are shown around and visit Kasbah de Taourirt in the morning. After lunch your drive start from Ait Ben Haddou. The Berber who was evicted from Arabian control in the 7th century went over the Atlas to live in Kasbah in oasis and construct a village called Ksar.

Ait-Ben-Haddou is a representative ksar and a world heritage listed by UNESCO. "Lawrence of Arabia", "The Mummy", "Sodom and Gomorrah" and "The Jewel of the Nile" were shot at Ait-Ben-Haddou.

  • You leave for Marrakech. You go over Tizi-n-Tishka, which is one of the highest passes in Morocco.
    Fields spread out in steps on the hills into the distance. You drive through magnificent scenery. After you check in the hotel at Marrakech, enjoy Place d Jemaael Fna, the plaza which is full of life like a festival crowded with people in the evening.

    There are a lot of place to visit in Marrakech. For example, Mosquee Koutoubia with a minaret and ancient tombs from the Asard dynasty. Jardin Menara is vast olive forest which was constructed by al-Muwahhidun in the 12th century. The other places to visit are Palais de la Bahia, Mosquee Ben Youssef, a theological school which has been used until recently and is a masterpiece of Islamic architecture. Medina of Marrakech is on the list of the World Heritage. It starts from the place d Jemaael Fna and is divided into craftsman wards where clothes, spices, meat, vegetables, furniture, leather products, brass products, wood carving, copper products, chinaware and carpets, etc. are sold.

    Let's go to Essaauira. The Medina of Essaouira is also registered to the World Heritage. It was flourishing as a center of military and industry later than the 15th century. After the decline it was revitalized by a French architect. It is a sightseeing spot which has a beautiful contrast between the blue sky and the white town. Argania Spinosa trees are growing around there. You can enjoy seafood dishes in this town.

    You go back home via Casablanca.
